The British virgin islands were conquered in 1555 by the Roman emperor. However, Christopher Columbus arrived there in 1493. In 1648 the Dutch had settled on the island. The island later became Independent in 1960. Since it is an island their primary source of food is seafood. The population is mixed mostly afro Caribbean, Latino, and European.

 The Caribbean coastal region I picked is Columbia. For My writing assignment, I will be introducing Columbia with its history. I would also like to write about the famous singers from Columbia. I would also write about Pablo Escobar and what he did for Columbia. Before that, I am going to talk about culture, art, and food. Columbia has a museum called museum del oro which Has a lot of gold. The resources I will be using for my paper are VCL, Google scholar, and articles on famous people.
