Cultural Connections in Colombia

The ethnicity of Colombia "is the mestizo (mixed white and Amerindian), constituting about 58% of the total population" which is more than half of the population.  From personal experience, I know the main spoken language in Colombia is Spanish. I also did research on this and "More than 99.5% of Colombians speak Spanish". The food listed below is called Bandeja paisa which is meat bean eggs avocado you can go to a Colombia restaurant and try it for yourself. The Carnival that I found most interesting was "Carnaval de Barranquilla reflects its vibrant celebration of life. The carnival is the second largest in the world" from national geographic. Barranquilla is actually a city in Colombia where you can do so many exciting things. The religion in Colombia is the same thing as the United States there's a little bit of everything. But the religion most followed is Christianity.

 On the Caribbean island, I recommend you to go to Cuba. The primary language that is spoken in Cuba is Spanish. The beaches are excellent places to visit like Vadaero beach. The beaches have nice clear water with white sand. The cars in Cuba are really vintage that's something new and nice to look at. Some of their buildings are painted with bright colors. The food is wonderful my friend is Cuban and she makes the best foods. In Cuba, you can go scuba diving and see some amazing waterfalls like leaping Caburni. Another thing you can do is go zip lining if you are not scared of heights. One of the places is called Las Terrazas this is where you can go zip lining. The currency used in Cuba is Cuban pesos. A fun fact is that part of fast and furious was filmed in Cuba to be specific at the capital which is Havana.

  Everyone’s story starts way back and Colombia’s story starts with pirates. Yes, pirates are real the pirates would come from French, Spain, and Dutch. Colombia’s history is like any other one, people fought for independence and Colombia gained its independence. Colombia uses to be a very dangerous country it has slowly become safe. I was informing my older brother about going but as soon as I told him. His face turned really concerning that’s when I explained that Colombia is safer, amazing to visit, nice things to do, and there’s a lot of famous people that come from Colombia.
